Kitchen Cabinet Refacing

No matter if you are thinking of doing a full kitchen remodel or simply want to refresh your cabinets in your existing space, kitchen cabinet refacing is a great service to consider. Unlike buying new, refacing allows you to keep your existing cabinets and just upgrade what they look like. From full refacing, which includes hardware, new varnish, and, in some cases, repairs, to a more streamlined reface, which sees you keep the same style and varnish but scrap off the old and bring in the new. Plus, refacing your cabinets takes less time and money. Whatever your preference, the team at A to Z Kitchens can help.

What Cabinets Can You Reface

Refacing is a great service, but not all cabinet styles are great candidates for refacing. Before refacing, you need to consider if your cabinets are sturdy box construction, which means they are either made of plywood, solid wood, or MDF panels. Finally, you need to inspect if your cabinet sides and faces are in good condition and, for the most part, are smooth. Water damage or issues with the wood itself could make refacing impossible, and in those cases, new cabinets are probably a better option moving forward.

The Process

Generally, a cabinet refacing project is pretty straight-forward. Our team will come in and detach the fixtures, remove the doors and drawers, and take them back to our service center. Once there, your cabinets and drawers will be refaced with wood veneer or rigid thermofoil, and we will take the time to replace any hinges and inside hardware that may be broken or need to be replaced. We will then arrive on-site and reinstall your doors and cabinet boxes. We can review any care or maintenance tips during installation.
